CNM Ceramics Studio The Ceramic Department at Central New Mexico Community College is the best-kept secret you need to know about! CNM has courses in Ceramics I & II which run 15 weeks in Fall/Spring terms, and 12 weeks in the Summer term, with a range of short-term, night, weekend, and one-day-a-week classes as well. Each 3-credit course runs $51 per credit hour (ONLY $5 per credit hour if you’re 62 or older!). That’s over 80 HOURS of art for about $200 (including registration/fees).

Ceramic courses are offered at the Westside Campus (located about 10 minutes west of Cottonwood Mall). This facility is just 3 years old, sparsely populated, and parking at this beautiful, quiet campus is free and always available. The Ceramics Lab (with adjoining Art Lab) features a glaze room, spray booth, 15 Shimpo VL Whisper wheels, Geil, Electric, and Raku kilns, and a Full-Time Ceramics Technician.

Fine Arts and Ceramics at CNM

The Department of Art and Art History at CNM is the best-kept secret you need to know about! CNM Has courses in Ceramics I & II, Jewelry and Small Metals, 2D and 3D Design, Printmaking, Painting and Drawing, Art Career Concerns, Advanced Portfolio Development, Art History, and more! Courses run 15 weeks in Fall/Spring terms, and 12 weeks in the Summer term, with a range of short-term, night, weekend, and one-day-a-week classes as well. CNM offers Associate’s Degrees in Fine Arts Studio and Art History, and a brand-new Bench Jewelry Certificate as well. . Faculty at CNM are all MFA’s, working as professional artists, and have years of teaching experience. Art Studio courses are offered at 3 Albuquerque campuses: Main Campus (near University and Coal) Montoya Campus (near Montgomery and Morris), and Westside Campus (located about 10 minutes west of Cottonwood Mall).
