Resonations in Clay – Life on the Bosque
Start thinking BOSQUE*! As an NMPCA member, you have advance notice of Resonations in Clay – Life on the Bosque, a three-month exhibit scheduled for July 7 through September 30, 2018, to be held in the beautiful and spacious gallery located at the Open Space Visitors Center in Albuquerque. The Call for Entry, open to all ceramic artists working in New Mexico to submit up to three pieces, will be published January 8, with an application deadline of April 20. Three jurors, with background and knowledge of the Bosque, Hispanic ceramics, or Native American ceramics, will be selecting functional and sculptural works for both pedestal and wall. The focus for this exhibit is interpretation of the Bosque’s changing four seasons and nature’s cycle of life on the river: bird migrations, agriculture, from seed to harvest, and farm to table. In addition to an opening reception, there will be demonstrations by selected artists and a hands-on activity for the public creating a trail marker art sculpture.
