Meet Amber Archer

I grew up in northern New Mexico, went to school at UNM and took a  summer pottery course there under a guest artist; Curt Hoard. Then went to Goddard College in Vermont where I learned to run a pottery studio, and got a degree. Upon returning to New Mexico I apprenticed with George and Cynthia Fick in La Cienaga. As their apprentice it was my duty to attend a newly organizing potters association (at that time it was to welcome Santa Fe Clay to the community ). NMPA as it was first called began holding workshops at Ghost Ranch and to that I owe a huge debt as it brought me up to Abiquiu every year. I have called Abiquiu my home for almost 20 years and sorry to say now rarely make the workshops, but do hold NMPCA in my heart for where it led me. I welcome all members to stop by when they are in the area.
