Sang’s Solo Show “Migration” Sings

Sang Roberson at Encore Gallery

Admirers abounded at Sang Roberson’s solo show Migration opening – along with bright “red” dots! Sang’s work at the Encore Gallery, located at Taos Center for the Arts, literally relates to the transition of her work from pedestal to wall of her traditional signature terra cotta clay box shapes and her new experimental series of paper clay wall vessels and boxes.  The genesis for Sang’s non-functional sculpted boxes and vessels in this show is her love of nature’s organic forms and colors of the Southwest.  Her work is burnished with terra sigillata, often pit-fired with hay, sawdust, bamboo, and other plants, and include organic findings and waxed linen cording.  Sang is a member of NMPCA and is currently represented by Blue Spiral 1 in  Asheville, North Carolina, and Watson MacRae Gallery in Sanibel, Florida.

Migration closes September 3, 2017.
